Amino North America Corporation is an advanced manufacturing facility located on Highbury Ave in St. Thomas, Ontario. The company serves a variety of sectors, including the automotive, appliance, heavy truck, aerospace, bus, agriculture, and construction industries. The company specializes in the production of automotive body panels and other steel and aluminum components using advanced sheet hydroforming technology. This fluid forming process allows the facility to produce complex parts that would be difficult or impossible to manufacture using conventional stamping methods. Their capabilities include assembly, presses, hemming, laser, CMM, simulation, and NC Dieless Forming. Specific examples of their work include aluminum front fenders, door inner and outer panels, hood panels, body side panels, decklids, and deep draw steel rear fenders for various vehicle models. Established in September 2002, the company was the first North American operation of the Amino Corporation of Japan. The St. Thomas site is positioned to supply major manufacturers such as GM, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, and Cami Automotive, while also offering opportunities for cooperative projects with local auto part suppliers. The facility features a press line with five state-of-the-art presses, including a 3000-ton fluid forming press and two 800-ton servo mechanical presses used for trimming, piercing, and flanging parts.
