About Black Fly Beverage Company

Black Fly Beverage Company is an advanced manufacturing business located in the Carling Heights neighborhood on Highbury Ave in London, Ontario. The company produces premium, ready-to-drink (RTD) mixed drinks for the Canadian market and beyond, serving consumers looking for flavorful, "not too sweet" spirit beverages. Their product lineup includes a variety of cocktails featuring Canadian vodka, gin, and rum, as well as genuine Mexican tequila from Jalisco, Mexico. Specific offerings include the Blue Lagoon, Gin Bramble, Tequila Sunrise, Gin Greyhound, and various "Vodka Crushed" options like Sour Key, Cream Soda, Root Beer, and Orange. They also offer "MA XX" varieties such as Raspberry Rush, Orange Burst, and Lemon Drop, alongside specialized mixer packs for Vodka, Gin, and Vodka Crushed flavors. The company was founded in 2005 by husband and wife Rob Kelly and Cathy Siskind-Kelly after they were awarded the first distillery license granted in Ontario in over 100 years. Originally operating out of a historic bank building in downtown London, the business moved to a state-of-the-art production facility in the city's industrial quarter in 2008. Black Fly describes itself as a craft producer committed to using quality ingredients like real pure juices and real cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. Their products are noted as being gluten-free, vegan, and kosher. Black Fly emphasizes its unique packaging and value, utilizing custom-designed, non-breakable, and re-sealable PET1 bottles that are 15% larger than many competing brands. These bottles feature wide mouths that allow ice cubes to fit inside. The company also focuses on green initiatives, such as using locally sourced, highly recyclable plastics and biodegradable sampling cups. Their products are available at local LCBO locations.
