Children's Health Foundation is a community and family organization located in the Rowntree Park neighbourhood on Westminster Ave. It serves children and families across Western Ontario, including regions from Windsor and Kitchener-Waterloo to Thunder Bay. The foundation works to improve the lives of children facing serious health issues by supporting excellence in healthcare and research through three primary partners: Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre, TVCC, and the Children’s Health Research Institute (CHRI). The organization provides various ways for the public to contribute to paediatric health, including one-time or monthly giving, tribute gifts, and corporate partnerships. Support from donors helps fund essential medical machinery, research to prevent and treat childhood diseases, and various therapeutic services. Specific programs supported by the foundation include Child Life, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, and Therapeutic Clown. Additionally, the foundation aids services for children with disabilities, such as the Adapted Fitness Centre, Kids on the Block, and Splinting and Casting. For those seeking community involvement, the foundation offers volunteer opportunities, a shop, and the Hope Excels Regionally (HER) Collective, which is a giving circle for women. Established in 1922, the Children's Health Foundation was founded on the principle that children should receive high-quality care close to home. The foundation describes its mission as inspiring people to donate to enhance the health and quality of life for young patients. It emphasizes a family-centred approach, particularly through its support of TVCC, which assists children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and communication disorders. The foundation also highlights the work of the Children's Health Research Institute, which has a long history of discovering methods to promote healthy lives for infants and youth.
