About Hyde Park Business Improvement Association

The Hyde Park Business Improvement Association (HPBIA) is a community organization located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Uptown London. It serves as a collective for 412 member businesses and 109 property owners, working together to foster a vibrant, connected community. The association describes Hyde Park as a city hamlet with a distinctive essence, offering a variety of shopping experiences, diverse products, and friendly services. The HPBIA provides several core services to support the local economy and community atmosphere. These include advocacy to give businesses a stronger voice on the London City Council regarding local issues, as well as beautification projects such as installing planter boxes, lighting, and seasonal decorations. The organization also manages recruitment and development to bring new business opportunities to the area while ensuring growth reflects the needs of existing shops. Additionally, the BIA organizes various community events, ranging from small-scale gatherings to larger celebrations like PondFest, outdoor markets, and seasonal festivities. With 45 years of service to the community, the association is managed by a Board of Management comprised of local business members. The board includes Chair Tom Delaney of Oxford Dodge, Treasurer Nancy Powell-Quinn of Moffatt & Powell RONA, Vice-Chair Lorean Pritchard of ReDECOR, and Directors Corrine Rahman, Vickie Balazs, Ashleigh Patterson, and Luke Unger. The board's primary goal is to promote the area and ensure Hyde Park is a first choice for residents' shopping and service needs.
