About Islamic Centre of Southwest Ontario

The Islamic Centre of Southwest Ontario is a non-profit religious charitable organization and mosque located on Pond Mills Rd in the Pond Mills neighbourhood of London. Serving as a welcoming home for the Muslim community of Southwest Ontario, it provides a variety of religious, educational, and social programs. The centre offers daily prayers, a weekend school for children in grades K–12, and a Quran Hifth Program for students aged 6–16. Other services include mental health and family counselling provided by trained Muslim counsellors, funeral and Janazah services, and marriage and divorce support, including Nikah and certificates. The facility also features an Islamic cemetery and hosts community programs such as a Brothers Chill Night and various Quran recitation and memorization classes. Established in 1994 by eight founding families, the centre was the second Islamic institution in London. It describes itself as a grassroots facility dedicated to promoting values such as peace, moderation, and kindness while fostering integration for the city's diverse Muslim population. The centre serves a community of over 30,000 people with roots in more than 40 countries. It functions as an egalitarian space that welcomes people of all backgrounds seeking to understand Islam and serves as an interfaith venue for different faith communities to interact. The centre is open daily for the five prayers, with office hours posted at the entrance. Most requests for services can be made online, and the organization accepts donations for its ongoing expansion project.
