About Kumon of Highbury & Huron

Kumon of Highbury & Huron is a tutoring center located in the Ridgeview Heights neighbourhood on Highbury Ave North in London, Ontario. The center provides academic support for children ranging from kindergarten readiness through high school, with a focus on developing confidence, independence, and critical thinking skills. The center offers the Kumon Math Program and the Kumon Reading Program. The math curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including counting, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, graphs, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and probability and statistics. The reading program focuses on pre-reading skills, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation, sentence building, and reading comprehension. Students can also utilize Kumon Connect, a digital format that allows children to complete worksheets on a tablet and stylus while parents can view progress history. The center follows a method where students attend classes twice a week and complete daily practice at home. The center is led by instructor Vidhya Srinivasan, who brings a diverse teaching background from India and Cameroon to her role. She describes her approach as one that empowers students to become self-learners by filling in learning gaps and mastering one skill at a time. The center offers a free assessment to determine a child's current learning level and create an individualized lesson plan.
