Literacy Link South Central is a literacy information and referral network located in the Hamilton Road area of London. The organization provides support to adult literacy programs and learners across six Ontario counties, including Middlesex, Oxford, Elgin, Brant, Haldimand, and Norfolk. The organization offers a variety of services designed to strengthen the literacy landscape. They refer individuals to various adult literacy programs, increase public awareness regarding the importance of literacy, and develop resources for community members and literacy programs alike. Their specific offerings include training for general community members and literacy program staff, such as the Clear Writing Workshop and the Literacy Awareness Workshop. Additionally, they support innovation by providing funding and assistance for creative literacy programs and work to plan services by identifying community issues and creating solutions. Literacy Link South Central describes itself as a network that advocates for and builds connections between literacy programs and those who need them. The organization works with partners, funders, and government bodies to improve the quality of life in the community through a well-resourced service delivery system. They are funded primarily by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development as part of the Employment Ontario network, with additional project funding from other sources. The team is led by Executive Director Summer Burton and Program Development Officer and Director of Operations Tamara Kaattari. They are active members of numerous organizations, including the Learning Networks of Ontario and the London Council for Adult Education.
