London Committee for Cross Cultural Arts Inc., also known as SUNFEST, is an events organization based in the Old North neighborhood of London, Ontario. It serves the local community and the broader city by hosting a large-scale celebration of global music and culture. The organization provides a free festival experience that features musical ensembles from multiple countries performing across five outdoor stages, alongside a marketplace with more than 200 food and craft exhibitors. Additionally, the organization offers a concert series and the IPN. Founded in 1995 by Alfredo Caxaj, the festival has grown over 30 years into a celebration of cultural diversity and social change. The organization describes its mission as promoting unity, inclusivity, and positive transformation within the city. Caxaj, who serves as the founder and Artistic Co-Director, was recently appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada. The festival is noted for its diverse lineup, which includes international musical talents ranging from Bossanova from Brazil to melodies from Seoul. The event takes place in Victoria Park, where it is described as one of Canada’s largest free celebrations of global culture. Visitors can explore a tapestry of arts, crafts, and culinary delights from around the world. The organization relies on a community of partners, artists, funders, staff, and over 700 volunteers to support its programs.
