London Music Office is a recreation and arts organization located in the downtown area of London, Ontario, on Dundas Street. Serving as the first point of contact for the local music community, it acts as a liaison between City Hall and the music sector. The organization provides guidance on creating live music events, obtaining proper licensing for music-related businesses, and managing music tourism initiatives. It is a division within Tourism London and serves as the city's focal point for its UNESCO City of Music designation. Led by Director Cory Crossman, the office works alongside the London Arts Council, the City's Culture Office, and Tourism London to support the growth of the music industry. It provides various services including advocacy, education, networking programming, and issue management. The organization also manages the London Business of Music Committee, which consists of four task teams: FoSTer (Music Education & Incubation), UNItE (Business Development), ENgage (Musicians & Artists), and liVEN (Events & Venues). The office offers a variety of resources for the community, including a directory of local music services. These include audio production and rental services from providers such as Long & McQuade, instrument sales and repairs from shops like Music City Canada and London Guitars, and a wide selection of recording studios like Emac Recording Studios and RPM Studios. Additionally, the office maintains a list of local music lessons, various live music venues, and information on upcoming grants, showcases, and programs.
