Mistyglen Creamery is a family-owned food and beverage manufacturing business located on Yorke Line in Belmont. It serves the local community by producing milk, yogurt, and cheese curds using milk sourced directly from their own dairy farm. The creamery offers a variety of farm-fresh products, including premium whole full-fat, non-homogenized, and minimally processed White Milk and Chocolate Milk. Their yogurt is made with non-homogenized milk and sweetened with maple syrup. They also produce fresh cheese curds and a rotating selection of flavored varieties, such as Dill Pickle, Loaded Potato, Spicy, Taco, Cracked Pepper, Smokin Chipotle, Jalapeno, Spicy Dill Pickle, Sweet & Smokey, Sweet Heat Popper, Montreal Chicken, Feisty Garlic, Chili, and Onion & Chive. The business is rooted in a long family heritage in Elgin County dating back to 1816. The current operation was established by Tom and Kris Pettit, who took over the dairy farming tradition from Tom's father, Murray. Despite facing significant setbacks, including two tornadoes that damaged their robotic milking facility, the family opened the creamery in 2022. They describe their approach as providing healthy, nutritious local food while honoring their multi-generational dairy farm heritage.
