About Original Kids Theatre Company

Original Kids Theatre Company is a not-for-profit charitable youth organization located in downtown London on King Street. It serves the local youth community by celebrating the lives of young people through the arts and providing opportunities to learn through theatre in a safe and challenging environment. The organization offers a variety of theatre experiences, including over 25 unique shows produced annually. Specific programs include the Main Cast, which is open to children ages 9 to 18, and the Original Kidlets, an introductory program for ages 5 to 9 that incorporates games, crafts, songs, and dances. The company also provides Camp OK and offers season subscriptions for its productions. Established in 1991, the company describes itself as a community-focused space that nurtures positive values and youth development. Its philosophy centers on helping children gain confidence and grow as individuals rather than simply creating stars. The organization emphasizes a unique rehearsal process where cast members develop performance skills and gain an appreciation for the arts. It aims to foster literacy, social, and critical thinking skills by providing diverse opportunities both onstage and backstage.
