About Peel Productions

Peel Productions is a professional photography and video service provider located on Blakie Road in the Longwoods neighborhood of London, Ontario. The business serves local residents and organizations by providing digitizing and transfer services for old home movies, business films, audio media, and vintage photo slides. The company offers a wide range of conversion services to move old media into modern viewing formats. Their video services include transferring VHS, VHS-C, Video8, Hi8, Digital8, MiniDV, Betamax, and Betacam tapes, as well as 8 mm, 16 mm, and Super-8 movie film reels. For audio, they digitize reel-to-reel and cassette tapes. Their photo services involve high-quality scanning of 35mm slide photos and reversal film, where they perform specific repairs such as fixing image brightness, balancing colors, and removing damage caused by film deterioration. Established in 1987, Peel Productions emphasizes a hands-on approach to preservation. The business describes itself as a studio where work is performed directly rather than being outsourced to volume-based processing centers or subcontractors. They highlight their commitment to maintaining the quality of original media, noting that they improve and repair items where needed to ensure a satisfied customer reputation. The business is led by Bob Peel, who brings experience from 19 years as a cameraman, color suite editor, and audio and video technician at a local CBC broadcasting affiliate. Customers can bring their media to the studio for drop-off or choose to mail in their valued audio and video items.
