About Railway City Improv

Railway City Improv is an arts and education business located on Bessemer Road in the Westminster neighbourhood of London, Ontario. It serves individuals and organizations across London and Southwestern Ontario, offering in-person comedy improv classes and applied-improv workshops designed to build confidence, communication, and social fitness. The business provides structured, beginner-friendly improv classes for adults and teenagers that focus on practical skills like active listening, spontaneity, storytelling, and collaboration. These sessions are held in closed learning environments where performance is optional and there is no audition required. For organizations, the business offers corporate workshops and team resets. These tailored simulations are designed to improve trust, onboarding momentum, and psychological safety, with some engagements including a post-session observation report providing practical leadership insights. Established in 2018, Railway City Improv describes its approach as a "playful method" with "serious transfer," focusing on building muscle memory for authentic human connection in an AI-saturated world. The business is a member of the London Chamber of Commerce and was recognized with the 2026 Consumer Choice Award for Comedy Club / School. It is also a Certified Humanity Oasis, a verified inclusive community space. Its facilitators bring diverse professional backgrounds in areas such as education, film, social work, and performance. The business offers both full multi-class courses and single-class sessions. While some classes are currently scheduled at St. Paul's Cathedral, the business also manages waitlists for various locations, including Central London, Hamilton, Ingersoll, North London, South London, St. Thomas, and Strathroy.
