St. John Ambulance is a first aid charity and training center located on King St in Central London, serving the local community and providing services to individuals, schools, and workplaces. As one of Canada’s oldest charitable organizations, it describes itself as a leader in empowering people to save lives through first aid training, supplies, and event support. The organization offers a wide range of first aid and health and safety courses, including Emergency/Basic First Aid, Standard/Intermediate First Aid, Advanced First Aid, and Medical First Responder training. They also provide specialized instruction in areas such as Mental Health Courses, Medical Terminology, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and WHMIS training. Additionally, the center offers online courses covering topics like H2S Awareness, Bloodborne Pathogens, Stress, Mental Health and Resilience, and Cultural Competency in the Workplace. Beyond training, the business provides first aid and safety supplies, including AEDs, AED accessories, first aid kits, and various medical essentials. The organization has a long history in Canada, with its first branch opening in Quebec City in 1883, followed by courses in Kingston, Ontario. By 1892, it had established 12 branches across the country. Today, St. John Ambulance maintains a large volunteer network, with more than 10,000 volunteers providing over one million hours of community service annually. The organization also provides resources on workplace safety, seasonal safety, and emergency preparedness.
