The foundation offers a wide range of free programs and services categorized into several areas. These include CNIB Guide Dogs, which involves raising and training guide dogs specifically for people with sight loss. Other offerings include "Live" programs for daily living skills, "Play" programs for active lifestyles like yoga or camping, "Work" programs for career and academic ambitions, and "Learn" programs focused on literacy and education. Additionally, they provide "Technology" programs to teach skills regarding accessible and affordable assistive tech. The CNIB Mobile Hub also brings in-person programming, such as technology workshops and social activities, directly into communities. Founded in 1918, the CNIB Foundation is powered by a national network of volunteers, donors, and partners. The organization emphasizes accessibility, diversity, and equity, and it actively works toward reconciliation with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. They also engage in international affairs to share expertise with other organizations. The foundation relies on volunteers for various roles, such as puppy raisers, boarders, and gardeners for the CNIB Guide Dog Memorial Garden.
