Middlesex County Library - Delaware Branch is a community library located on Young St in Delaware, Ontario. It serves the local residents of the area as one of the 15 branches within the Middlesex County Library system, which provides services to the Village of Newbury, Southwest Middlesex, Strathroy-Caradoc, Middlesex Centre, North Middlesex, Lucan-Biddulph, and Thames Centre. The library provides resources for those interested in local history and genealogy. Patrons can access a collection of family histories, local history records, and cemetery indexes. The branch also offers access to the Ancestry Library Edition at no cost via library computers or personal devices connected to the library's wi-fi. Additionally, the broader library system provides access to microfilm readers and local newspapers on microfilm at five specific locations. For those conducting specialized research, the library system maintains a Local History collection that includes the History of the County of Middlesex (1889) and the Illustrated Historical Atlas of the County of Middlesex (1878). The library also houses the OGS Family Histories Collection, which was transferred to the system in late 2016. Researchers are encouraged to contact the library before visiting to ensure their needs can be met.
